Tender description
Basildon & Brentwood wish to secure Providers for the provision of 24 Hour BP Monitoring, Anticoagulation, Gonadorelin Analogue, Minor Injuries, Secondary Care Wound Management and Vasectomy Services for the population registered with General Practitioners (GP) in Basildon & Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). 24 Hour BP Monitoring Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is the non-invasive measurement of blood pressure over a prolonged period (usually 24 hours). NICE now recommends that a diagnosis of hypertension should be made using 24-hour ABPM. This should be offered to patients if the clinic blood pressure is 140/90 mmHg or higher. Anticoagulation Anti-coagulation Monitoring Service is one in which there is minimisation of potential side effects of warfarin or other oral anticoagulation therapy by utilising regular monitoring to stabilise the International Normalised Ratio (INR) levels of patients while continuing to maximise the effective benefits of such treatment. Maintenance of patients is controlled appropriately and therapy is discontinued when appropriate. Gonadorelin Analogue Gonadorelins are used primarily in the treatment of carcinoma of the prostrate and sometimes used in the treatment of breast cancer and endometriosis. There are a number of treatment regimes, which vary in the detail of their programme of administration and main purpose. Minor Injuries The service recognises a need for providing a minor injury service for events which have occurred within the 48 hours prior to attendance. Professional consensus indicates that injuries and wounds over 48 hours old should usually be dealt with through normal primary care services, as should any lesion of a non-traumatic origin. Ambulance cases are not usually accepted, except by individual prior agreement between the doctors and the attending ambulance personnel.
