GMDSS Equipment for Sea Area A3

Tender description

The contract will cover the provision, of a GMDSS A3 system to replace the current SKANTI System. The replacement system is to provide similar services and functionality (unless noted otherwise elsewhere in the attached document) to the existing system and should seamlessly interface with existing Irish Naval Service communications systems. The system is to be fully compliant with the SOLAS Chapter IV requirement for GMDSS for ships operating in sea area A3 The system should be modular in construction with discrete power supplies. The replacement system is to utilise the existing battery backup and 24V emergency supplies. With the exception of the SAT C element, the replacement system will utilise the existing aerials and cable runs. Procurement timeline: • 2014 Two complete systems With the option of: • 2015 Two complete systems • 2016 Two complete systems Technical training to be quoted for five/six students (to take place in 2014).
