Fáilte Ireland in conjunction with Dublin City Council wishes to achieve a highly successful End of Year Festival delivered by a first class festival organiser having all the necessary experience and expertise to deliver a great event. There is no particular restriction on the type of events to be sanctioned other than the fact that they fit appropriately into the cultural life of the city Fáilte Ireland would like the festival experience to be extended into new areas / venues/ locations in the city, with emphasis on the public realm to generate a feeling of Dublin being ‘en fête’. The #LoveDublin Day component of last year’s event was well received and succeeded in engaging a range of venues, event organisers and performers in a programme that had ‘Dublin’ at its core. Fáilte Ireland are open to revisiting the core components (Countdown Concert, Procession of Light, The Big Brunch) and are open to alternative suggestions for high-impact and participative flagship events. However the success of the Countdown Concert and Procession of Light over the last 3 years would suggest it is a core element in future festivals. The Programme must be fully agreed by July 2014. In order to ensure security in the delivery of the festival programme by the selected service provider, an appropriate bond (irrevocable letter of credit) must be granted to Fáilte Ireland as a strict condition of contract. The concessionaire will provide animation of the public domain and use of the streetscape in innovative ways to engage all comers, residents and visitors alike.
