Tender description

To provide a quality Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS) service for NHS Nottingham West CCG. The CCG is looking to appoint one provider that can provide the service across Nottingham West CCG’s geographical boundaries. To improve the identification and response to patients who are or have been affected by domestic violence and abuse across general practices in Nottingham West Clinical Commissioning Group. Identification and Referral to Improve Safety - the local implementation will build on the learning from the initial project in Bristol and Hackney and more locally in Nottingham City and Mansfield and Ashfield. Domestic violence and abuse occurs regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality, wealth and geography. Research shows that it disproportionately affects women. The contracted service will provide a specialist Domestic Violence & Abuse (DVA) worker who will be an experienced provider of domestic abuse advice and an effective trainer. They will be responsible for contacting and recruiting local practices, providing joint training with an identified GP clinical lead to clinical and non-clinical practice staff, offering consultancy and support to practice staff and acting as a single point of contact for staff to refer any patient to who may be affected by DVA. The DVA service provider will need to provide a female member of staff to carry out the work. The post holder must be female. Section 7 (2) (e) of the Sex Discrimination Act (1979) applies.
