Tender description

The Contract has now been awarded to Philip Farrelly & Co. Ltd. The development of a rapid, catchment-level, agricultural risk assessment methodology for freshwater pearl mussels and the development of a methodology for farm planning to support the conservation of freshwater pearl mussels concentrating on green/in-bye-land and the testing of that methodology through approximately ten case studies. The purpose of a rapid, catchment-level, agricultural risk assessment is to focus subsequent work on the priority agricultural-related pressures. The deliverables will include a method for the completion of rapid, catchment-scale agricultural risk assessments in freshwater pearl mussel catchments; a concise methods manual for farm advisors for the production of freshwater pearl mussel farm plans; a freshwater pearl mussel farm- plan template; a farm advisors ‘workbook’ to include necessary data management systems for the analyses and storage of data underlying farm plans; approximately ten draft farm plans.
