Northwest Bridges Term Maintenance Contract No.2

Tender description

The Works comprise the routine maintenance of 591 Structures on the National Road Network in Counties Cavan, Mayo, Galway, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon and Monaghan. The work will be phased over 3 years; a 16 week contract period is allotted for each of the years, 2013 (Year 1), 2014 (Year 2) and 2015 (Year 3). Each of Years 1, 2 and 3 Works will have a 52 week defects correction period. The project requires the following works to be carried out; • Traffic management; • Unblocking drainage; • Removal of vegetation; • Repairing potholes and sealing pavement cracks; • Parapet repairs; • Concrete repair; • Bridge scour repair works; • Patch painting of steelwork; • Replacing guardrails / safety barriers; • Masonry stonework repairs; • Road sweeping and cleaning; • Graffiti removal; • Miscellaneous maintenance works. Contract awarded to Jons Civil Engineering, Duleek, Co. Meath, on 1/10/2013 for €1,437,545.32 ex VAT.
