Tender description

The Councils are seeking a Contract for disposal of their commercial and industrial waste that does not use landfill as the primary method of disposal. There is no prescription on the methodology that should be used but the Councils are seeking to get more value from the collected waste through recovery methods before final disposal. By virtue of Section 63A of the Environmnetal Protection Act 1990 the Councils are seeking ways to minimising the quantities of controlled waste generated in their areas and thereby reduce of other mitigate the amount and cost of landfill use; this being a requirement of the EU Landfill Directive 1999/21/EC
