Proposed New Escape Staircase and Enclosure etc GMIT Dublin Road, Galway

Tender description

GMIT are seeking tenders from qualified contractors for a proposed new escape staircase and enclosure, new escape door to existing stairwell and new window to Main Campus Building at GMIT, Dublin Road Galway. The works will involve the following: construction of a new fire escpe stairwell from the existing first floor of the main campus building GMIT Dublin road galway to the ground floor. This stairwell is generally to be constructed using cavity block wall construction on strip foundations with a re-inforced concrete stairs, landing and columns. The roof is to be constructed with metal support purlins and sheeted with an insulated metal panel. All associated site works including the relocation services and modifications to fencing and railing in the vacinity of the proposed works are also to be undertaken as part of this contract. The works also include the introduction of a double fire escape door from an existing stairwell through an existing precast panel wall. These works include the lowering of the existing floor level to facilitate this door and also the lowering of the existing ground level externally for escape. The works also include the introduction of a window to an existing office at ground floor level. All of the above works are at seperate locations on the GMIT Campus Galway.
