Musculoskeletal (MSK) Integrated Hub Services

Tender description

From 1 April 2013, Basildon & Brentwood CCG and Thurrock CCG are responsible for buying healthcare services for the people in the Basildon, Billericay, Brentwood and Wickford and Thurrock areas. Basildon and Brentwood CCG has a total population of 264,630 and Thurrock CCG has a population of about 164,000. Both CCGs buy healthcare from hospitals, community and mental health services and some specialist services (service contracts with GPs, dentists, pharmacists and opticians are managed by the NHS Commissioning Board). The CCGs have a lead responsibility for medium to long-term health plans for its local population, working with all organisations and representatives in the health and social care system to deliver joined up seamless quality services to the public, patients and carers. The CCGs are aware of their local diversity which represents a particular challenge for user involvement. This makes it all the more important to include those members of our population whose views may not be captured by the more traditional forms of engagement. To achieve this vision, we aim to design services within available resources around the agreed needs of people and by working collaboratively with our partners. The services in scope include Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, MSK Pain Management, Physiotherapy and associated Podiatry services Our services are located at various sites across South West Essex.
