RFT to develop a Signage Audit & Strategy for the Lough Derg Destination Area

The Mid West Regional Authority, as lead partner in the above project, is seeking to commission suitably experienced consultants to undertake the development of a Signage Plan for the Lough Derg destination Area from Portumna to Ballina/Killaloe, including the major settlements within this boundary, incorporating both sides of Lough Derg, as illustrated in the accompanying map (map 1 attached). This will involve a review of existing signposting within a 3 mile radius from Lough Derg (motorways outside of this radius to be included as per Map 2), consultation with key stakeholders and the development of a new signposting plan for the region.The desired outcome for the proposed signage strategy will be:- Guidance of visitors to, and through the Lough Derg Destination Area in a manner that is compatible with the sensitive environment and landscape in the area.- Provision of a signposting plan that will be of benefit to the local host community- Provision of a comprehensive, co-ordinated signage plan for the Lough Derg Destination Area which will also inform and direct signage in the future.The overall project will comprise 3 key phases. Phase 1, which is the subject of this tender will require the following actions namely:Phase 1: The Development of a Signage Plan to include the:- Audit and mapping of existing signage infrastructure including licensed, unlicensed and public directional, interpretative & information signs,- Consultation with all key stakeholders including the local community on the formulation of the planned signage strategy.
