Tender description

rx3 proposes to appoint a contractor(s) to conduct a Bulky Waste Reuse Best Practice Management Feasibility Studywhich will establish an all Island approach to bulky waste management and increased reuse opportunities of bulky waste from civic amenity (CA)/recycling centre (RC) sites. The study will examine and review the possibility of:provision of branded drop off points at CA/RC sites for reusable items, especially bulky goods - the aim will be to encourage the public to leave items that have a reasonableprospect of being reused/prepared for reuse, at one covered point in the CA/RC where the quality of the items can be preserved.servicing each drop-off point on a regular basis under a contract by a reuse organisation to remove items and deliver them to the appropriate reuse organisation.improving the sales of items once refurbished (e.g. end market demand, pricing etc). The main aim of the study is to carry out a feasibility study, followed by a pilot demonstration scheme, to establish whether an all Island approach to bulky waste management and increased reuse opportunities of bulky waste from civic amenity (CA)/recycling centre (RC) sites is practical.
