Tender description
The Office of Public Works (OPW) seeks tenders from reputable suppliers for the support of its Alcatel network & telephony infrastructure and associated management software.Tenderers must have proven expertise in the management and support of all Alcatel equipment used by OPW.Tenderers will also be required to provide support for a small number of Cisco and Actelis network devices that interoperate with the Alcatel equipment.Tenderers should be aware that Alcatel voice and data services in OPW are tightly coupled. For reasons of management and security, the support for both voice and data services should be provided by the one company. Alcatel voice systems in OPW are using VoIP and IP Telephony technologies in the main but there are some legacy analogue devices also.Full details of the equipment, software and locations for which maintenance cover is required can be found at Appendices 1 & 2 in the RFT. Tenderers should itemise the support cost against each category.The commencement date of the contract will be 1st May 2012. Tenderers should quote for one year support with option to extend the contract for up to three years.This contract provides for reactive support at least for the equipment and software packages identified in the RFT. This includes the replacement of hardware and software components in the event of malfunction.The minimum support coverage required isTenderers should clearly specify:What format that support would take (e.g. on-site, e-mail, phone etc.)How their call helpdesk operates (including call support workflow)How calls are prioritisedEscalation proceduresIf applicable, tenderers should quote for different support levels available up to and including 24 x 7 x 365, indicating hours of availability and response times for telephone and on site support.In addition to the reactive support alluded to above, tenderers should also quote for an additional 10 no. support days on a draw-down basis for system configuration work, health checks (to
