Operation & Management of Milbrook Leisure Facilities

SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL invites applications from suitably experienced organisations who wish to be considered for selection to tender for the operation, management and maintenance of the Millbrook Leisure Centre, Southampton. The facilities include: • Community Reception and Office • Community Lounge with Kitchen • Changing Rooms • Toilets and Showers • Lift • Sports Hall • Fitness Room • Gymnasium • Community Activities Room and Kitchen • Seven Multi-Sport Courts The City Council currently provides grounds maintenance for the facilities in-house. The key objective of the Council is to seek investment in the facilities, reduce the net subsidy the Council pays for the operation, increase participation in sport and physical activity and widen access to the facility for all people in the City. In addition, it is important to note that the operation of the site will be subject to the conditions of the Sport England Funding Agreement that pertains to the facilities, as well as the need to provide pre-defined access to the co-located Pupil Referral Unit. The services will be provided through a services agreement. It is anticipated that the contract will commence in September 2012 and will be for a period of 5 years, with an option to extend for up to 3 years, at the sole discretion of the Council.
