The Contract is for site investigation works for the Kilkenny Central Access Scheme. The purpose of this investigation contract is to provide detailed information on the ground conditions to allow the detail design of approximately 3.5km of carriageway and three river crossings, one over the River Nore and two over the Breagagh River.The contract is for the provision of site investigation services including trial pits, slit trenches, cable percussive boreholes, rotary boreholes and a geophysical survey. The investigations will include the locating of services, test excavations, recording, surveying, written and photographic recording of excavations and all associated reporting and lab testing.Note: that this is a non-exhaustive list of the works to be completed as part of this Contract. The full extent of the works should be determined from reference to the Contract as a whole.The scheme is located in the City of Kilkenny and spans from St. Canice’s Place eastwards across the River Nore, through Wolfe Tone Street onto the Castlecomer Road at the Military Barracks.
