Design of a County Cycle Network Map and Promotional Material

Tender description

The successful designer will be required to design a map of the entire county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council that will highlight the cycle network and Greenways (walking and cycling routes) to the public and assist in route planning. It is expected that this map would be created in layers. The appointed designer should have the required software to create a layered map. At a minimum these maps should contain the following detail, most of which will be provided by the Council:All major cycle destinations highlighted in the Cycle Network Assessment Report (e.g. UCD, Dundrum, Dún Laoghaire, etc).Street names (along the primary and secondary cycle network at a minimum).Residential Estate names.Places of interest (cinemas, town centres, shopping districts, public parks, green spaces, playgrounds, key tourist attractions etc).Primary and Secondary School names.Public Transport nodes - Luas, Dart, bus stops with cycle parking, main taxi ranks.Bike Shops.Difficult junctions and crossing points e.g. traffic signalised junctions, toucan crossings (pedestrian and cyclist crossing location) roundabouts etc that may wish to be avoided when cycling.Pedestrian only facilities that can be accessed by bike if a cyclist dismounts e.g. over-bridges on the N11.Cycle recreation facilities e.g. Ticknock Mountain Trails and other nearby Dublin Mountain biking routes.Speed limits on roads where the limit is greater than or less than 50 kph.Any other points of interest that may be of benefit to cyclists.QR-Code(s) linking to the DLR website, luas / bus / rail timetables or other information of interest.The following information will be provided by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and must be shown:Types of cycle facilities (whether on/off road cycle tracks, cycleways through parks, contraflow cycle routes, existing or proposed routes etc) and the skill level required to cycle these facilities. These details will be provided as part of the Cycle Network Assessment and the desi
