The Health Research Board (HRB) leads and supports excellent research by outstanding people within a coherent health research system and generates knowledge and promotes its application in policy and practice.The HRB, on behalf of the Department of Health, requires a market research company to conduct a knowledge, attitudes and beliefs survey with respect to specific public health issues: alcohol and obesity.Market research is required to measure knowledge of, attitudes to, and beliefs around the purchasing and consumption of alcohol, gauge attitudes to the sale and marketing of alcohol, attitudes to current or possible responses to the harm caused by alcohol and attitudes to measures to address obesity.A face to face questionnaire will be administered, using standard techniques, to a nationally representative sample of the population, which is of adequate size and represents view points across age, gender and urban rural divide. The data will be validated using logical checks. The data will be analysed using frequencies and cross tabulations. The data file will be returned to the HRB in an SPSS data file. The project needs to be completed by 07 June 2012.Persons wishing to tender for this contract should complete the attached qualification questionnaire and prepare a proposal and submit their documents by email through the eTenders website.We are providing a one week period for the completion of the proposals as there are standard methodologies for the completion of such market research surveys, the HRB are looking for a company with experience of doing such surveys, and the HRB are working to a very tight deadline.
