Cork County Council requires the services of a competent Consultant, with experience of Civil Engineering Works in the field of Wastewater Treatment to prepare a Preliminary Report on the proposed upgrade of the Bandon wastewater treatment plant.The firm should be able to demonstrate experience in wastewater treatment plant design, preliminary report preparation, health and safety, procurement and project management.The original Bandon Wastewater Treatment Plant was constructed in the early 1960s and consisted of preliminary and primary/secondary treatment. Due to overloading and a deterioration in the treated effluent standard, the plant was upgraded, extended and commissioned in 1993. The plant is designed to treat a P.E of 20,000 and has been operated and maintained by Cork County Council since then.A significant number of repairs and improvements are required in order for the plant to comply with Waste Water Treatment Regulations, the pending EPA Waste Water Discharge License and to assist in its operation.
