Details

Tender description

Loop Head Lighthouse is located in West Clare, approximately 80km from Ennis. The Lighthouse is a working station in the ownership of the Commissioners of Irish Lights (CIL). In July 2011, Clare County Council, with the support and cooperation of CIL, opened the Lighthouse as a visitor attraction on a trial basis. The trial was a tremendous success with the lighthouse attracting almost 17,000 visitors during the 11 week opening period. Subject to agreement, Clare County Council and its partners in the project – CIL, Loop Head Tourism and Shannon Development – are now looking to open the attraction again in 2012 and are seeking suitable consultants to research, design and implement an exhibition and interpretation plan to further expand the tourism offering at Loop Head Lighthouse.
