Job Shop/Job Brokerage

Tender description

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, invite submissions from suitably experienced and qualified organisations to tender for the Job Shop and Job Brokerage Service, which is currently sited in Becontree. The organisation will provide a Job Shop and Job Brokerage Service, which will predominately cover, but not limited to, the Chadwell Heath, Whalebone, Valence and Becontree areas of the Borough, and will preferably be operated from a high street based shop unit, ensuring that residents can easily gain access to the service. This will include assisting the residents to gain access to sustainable employment. The Job Shop and Job Brokerage will be branded to complement the existing Job Shops currently operated by the Borough. Applications are welcome from organisations with a proven track record of at least three years in delivering a similar service and are able to demonstrate their success and shall be able to evidence partnership working with the Borough or other Council’s. The proposed service should include, but may not be limited to:- • Creation, review and updating residents c.v.’s and covering letters • Develop and enhance residents interview skills • Teach techniques to the residents to enable them to search for employment • Offer multiple routes to access the employment market • Assist the resident in completing application forms • Signposting to vocational training opportunities linked to vacancies and employer demand • Signposting to additional training, support and Job Clubs • Be able to match local job vacancies to residents enrolled on the programme • To offer In Work support – up to 12 months after the resident has gained employment • To be accessible to the residents Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5 pm • Provide staff who are as a minimum trained to NVQ Level 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance • To review the residents eligibility to access the programme
