Tender description

Southampton City Council is looking to appoint a contractor to deliver the a successful Handyperson service. The contract will initially be for two years commencing April 1st 2012. The Handyperson service completes small scale repairs, adaptations and improvements for older, disabled and vulnerable people living in Southampton to enable independent living in safe, warm and secure homes. The service will also play an important role in identifying any support needs of customers and having the right referral mechanisms in place to offer the support they require. The service will be based locally, with a minimum of 2 operatives working in the city completing at least 2,400 service hours each year. The successful organisation will have suitable experience in working with older and vulnerable people and an ability to demonstrate delivery of high quality services. Interested organisations must be aware that TUPE will apply to this contract.
