Collection & Recycling of Glass and Cans from Bring Bank Network for Kerry County Council

Tender description

Kerry County Council provides separate receptacles for the collection of glass (clear, brown and green) and cans (food and drink) at its Bring Bank Network in various locations throughout County Kerry and sought tenders from competent contractors for the collection and recycling of these materials from its Bring Bank Network. Kerry County Council requires a consistent, secure and reliable service in which backup is available at short notice in order to ensure the receptacles are not overflowing. A list of the Bring Bank sites for glass (clear, brown and green) and cans (food and drink) is attached in Appendix 1 of Tender Document identifying the number of receptacles provided at each location. The quantity of materials collected and the number of visits to each Bring Bank site in 2010 is also attached in Appendix 2. The total Tonnage of materials collected from the Bring Bank Network in Kerry in 2010 was:- Clear Glass – 1,361T- Green Glass – 1,136T- Brown Glass – 574T- Aluminum Cans – 117T- Steel Cans – 250TThe quantity of materials collected under this contract is subject to fluctuation and not guaranteed by Kerry County Council.The receptacles are to be emptied by the contractor on site following which he will be responsible for all transportation, processing costs etc. which are to be included in the rates tendered by the contractor.Kerry County Council will be collecting the subsidy payments due under the Repak Payment Scheme (RPS) for all materials collected under this contract.
