Tender description

In order to expedite Ireland's response to the European Court of Justice's judgement (C-418/04) NPWS seeks tenders for work on the processing of sites for SPA designation under Article 4 of the Birds Directive. Tenders are sought from individuals with the requisite complementary qualifications and demonstrable experience in Irish ecological conservation to (1) assess existing and proposed site boundaries in order to facilitate the production of definitive SPA boundaries; (2) prepare the relevant supporting documents required for sites to be formally proposed for SPA designation; (3) manage other contractors to undertake field visits and produce scientific reports on lands that are subject to an external appeal; and (4) produce a synthesis report outlining Ireland's SPA Network thus far.
