1. Background and Summary of RequirementsThe quality of Information Technology resources available to both the research and infrastructure in DIAS has been significantly advanced in recent years. The management of the data explosion, the ubiquity of services, are all part of the new challenges of the current eco-techno-system.The current project aims to provide more flexibility and capacity :- Flexibility by improving the virtualization and centralization of IT services- Capacity by increasing the storage available for researchers and strengthening of current backup systemsThe DIAS now invites tenders for the supply, installation and maintenance of a suitable set of computers. The solution proposal should include:2. Specification of Requirements1. One Large memory computer server- 24 Cores (Preferably Intel based)- 192 GB RAM- HDD 1 TB RAID 1 Storage (Preferably 3Ware based)- Rack mounts rails2. Two servers for Virtualization and Storage- 2 Units size- 4 Cores (minimum) (Preferably Intel based)- 16 GB RAM (mininum)- HDD 8 TB RAID 10 Storage (minimum) (Preferably 3Ware based)- 6 Gigabit Ethernet Ports- Rack mounts rails3. Two virtualization servers- 2 Units size- 8 Cores (Preferably Intel based)- 64 GB RAM (DDR3)- SSD 256 GB RAID 1 Storage (Preferable Intel SSD) (Preferably 3Ware based)- HDD 1 TB RAID 1 Storage (Preferably 3Ware based)- 6 Gigabit Ethernet Ports- Rack mounts rails3. System compatibilityAll servers must be compatible with RedHat Linux. Other distributions would be a plus.4. Environmental and power consumptionAll servers must include a redundant power supply.Low consumption disks are preferable.5. Support and warrantyPotential suppliers must provide maintenance for the system for a minimum of four years from delivery of the equipment on site. The proposal must specify the cost of the support and maintenance contracts proposed as well as the response time.6.
