Development and Delivery of a Natural Heritage Awareness Programme for Tourism

Fáilte Ireland is the National Tourism Development Authority, established by the Irish Government in May 2003 to guide and promote the development of tourism as a leading indigenous component of the Irish economy. To this end, Fáilte Ireland, working in partnership with the tourism industry, provides an extensive range of support services and business solutions designed specifically to develop and sustain Ireland as a high-quality and competitive tourism destination.Fáilte Ireland works in partnership with Tourism Ireland (who promote Ireland as a holiday destination to overseas markets) and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (responsible for tourism development and marketing in Northern Ireland). It also leads an extensive domestic holiday campaign via ‘Discover Ireland,’ which features comprehensive information and listings for Irish accommodation, activities, events, tourist attractions and Irish holiday special offers.The framework is for the delivery of the following:- The design and delivery of a suite of workshops which will raise awareness of Ireland’s natural heritage among tourism operators.- The preparation of content for a supporting toolkit for the tourism industry.- The preparation of content for a motivational and informative ebook on natural heritage for visitors
