Tender description

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has estate property around the world (including the United Kingdom) in approximately 200 different locations with over 4000 properties. The management of the estate includes maintaining and testing the electrical installations. The estate comprises Embassies & High Commissions (anything from a stand-alone building to a fitted-out leased office in a high-rise building), visa offices and residential buildings for diplomats. The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has a requirement for suitably qualified electrical contractors or engineers under a 4 year Framework agreement to deliver electrical periodic inspection & testing and essential safety works on a Worldwide basis. To meet the FCO’s commitment to apply safe standards to its properties the FCO undertakes electrical testing, Inspections and corrective works to its installations on a 5 year rolling programme. The Service provider may be required to provide the following services, including but not limited to: Carrying out testing & inspection of electrical installations throughout the overseas & UK estate in accordance with the FCO’s Health & Safety manual HSP9.64, the FCO electrical guidance document, or BS7671, Condition Surveys, essential electrical repair works. These Framework Agreements will be for a period of up to four years from the start date. The start date will be notified in the framework tender documents. Call-offs for specific projects which commence within the framework period may extend beyond the expiry of the Framework Agreement.
