Blood Borne Prevention, Detection & Referral Services

Notice is hereby given by the NHS South East Essex (“the PCT”) that: the PCT invites expressions of interest from suitable providers who are able to provide blood borne prevention, detection and referral services in the South East Essex area to achieve the following: • To improve quality by providing an accessible, efficient service meeting the highest standards of clinical governance • To bring innovation into the current service by applying best practice from elsewhere • To increase productivity by raising the number of people protected from hepatitis B and aware of their current blood borne virus status • To take preventive and reduce the burden of ill health from blood borne viruses in the population. Providers will need to be submitting data to the National Treatment Agency. The applicable contracts will commence in October 2011 and will continue for a period of 1 year (subject to contract terms and performance).
