Sourcing of Participants for Fáilte Ireland’s Tourism Internship Programme

Fáilte Ireland is the National Tourism Development Authority, established by the Irish Government in May 2003 to guide and promote the development of tourism as a leading indigenous component of the Irish economy. To this end, Fáilte Ireland, working in partnership with the tourism industry, provides an extensive range of support services and business solutions designed specifically to develop and sustain Ireland as a high-quality and competitive tourism destination. Our vision for Irish tourism is that of a dynamic, innovative, sustainable and highly regarded sector offering international and domestic visitors a positive and memorable experience beyond their expectations. The new National Internship Scheme (NIS) provides an opportunity for the tourism industry to potentially employ up to 200 graduates in marketing/sales/e business/languages and to ultimately further develop overseas tourism business to Ireland. Using the structure, process and principles of the NIS, and working with and through other relevant stakeholders as and where appropriate, Fáilte Ireland will develop a Tourism Internship Programme which will include an intensive tourism overseas marketing immersion training programme for participating graduates.For further information please see the attached RFT document.
