Tender description
NIBSC will be tendering for the work described below and are accepting supplier visits from week commencing 11th and 18th July 2011. The supplier must contact Paul Martin Project Engineer to arrange the visit: National Institute for Biological Standards and Control Blanche Lane, South Mimms, Potters Bar, Herts, EN6 3QG Tel: +44 (0)1707 641512 Mobile: +44 (0)7917 132995 This project is to apply wall coverings in one metal partition-walled filling room to provide an airtight seal. The wall is formed of a metal partition shell with vinyl flooring, flush mounted lighting and flush mounted electric sockets. We are having trouble sealing the room to make it airtight during fumigation. The room needs to be sealed such that there is no transfer of air from inside the room to outside. The room will be stripped of lighting, power sockets, and surface mounted alarms. Cables will be pulled back outside the room. The vinyl floor will be lifted. The new wall covering will consist of: One sheet of plywood fixed to the existing metal partition. The edges of the plywood will be butted together and then sealed with joint filler. All screw holes will be sealed with joint filler. On top of the plywood will be fixed one sheet of plasterboard. The joints must be offset from the joints of the plywood, and all edges are to be butted together with joint filler. All screw holes will be sealed with joint filler. On top of the plasterboard, 2mm vinyl will be applied, either Altrosmooth intrinsic or Polyflor equivalent. On the floor, the screed will be grinded before applying two coats of DPM and Altro resin flooring. This is to be coved up the wall to meet the vinyl wall covering, and sealed at the join. New surface mount IP65 lighting will be installed with T8 LED tubes. All electrical sockets will be run in surface mounted dado trunking – MK 2com. All cabling will be brought through in one area and run to the respective areas, lighting, electrical sockets, alarms etc.
