Tender description

The Commission for Aviation Regulation is a statutory public body operating under the aegis of the Department of Transport. The principal functions of the Commission are:(i) the regulation of airport and aviation terminal services charges,(ii) licensing of tour operators, travel agents, air carriers and ground handlers,(iii) enforcing the rights of air passengers and persons with reduced mobility under EU legislation, and(iv) dealing with passenger queries and claims in the event of a collapse of a travel agent or tour operator.Full details about the Commission and its functions are available on www.aviationreg.ie.The services sought include but are not limited to:(i) provision of an internal audit service based on best practice methods incorporating the highest ethical standards;(ii) regular reporting structure with detailed reports on high risk areas with advice on risk minimisation;(iii) liaison with the Commission's own Internal Audit Committee and its external auditors, the Comptroller and Auditor General;(iv) advising on corporate governance issues;(v) dealing with ad hoc matters from time to time and(vi) providing a high quality service at all times during the contract period.
