Tender description

Location The scheme is located on the M6 between junctions 40 and 41. The southern limit being between the slip roads at junction 40. The carriageway is dual three-lane motorway with hard shoulders. Details of Work The works include the following: • Removal of approximately 6.0km of existing safety fencing. • Hardening of the central reserve. • Installation of concrete safety barrier. The works are programmed to commence on the 31st January 2010 and be completed by 11th April 2010 a period of 10 weeks the site to be cleared for the Easter period. Traffic Management It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken under lane closures utilising the hardshoulders as running lanes. There will be a mandatory 50mph speed restriction over the full length of the works.
