Tender description

The Project is for the provision of regional office accommodation which will be located at the existing site in Newcastle, County Down. The contract is for the design, extension and refurbishment of the existing Social Security Office located at 31 Valentia Place, Newcastle. The building is to provide suitable office and ancillary accommodation and associated services and facilities for approximately 35 staff from which they can carry out their functions. The proposals for the building have been granted Planning Permission to increase the gross floor area (GFA) from 664m2 to 1,045m2. It should be noted that the building will be required to operate their service throughout the duration of the contract and the contract will therefore operate on a phased basis. The scope of the project encompasses everything necessary to complete the design in accordance with the Works Information and to refurbish and extend the buildings and ancillary works ready for occupation.
