Contractors interested in being selected to participate in this competition, must be registered with constructionline, or other body which carries out an equivalent certification function. Outline Description of the Project:- The Project is for the restoration of a hydro electric power scheme at Roe Valley Country Park, Limavady, Co Londonderry. Pre Designed Works The construction of a pre designed in-situ concrete inlet structure and spillway in or close to existing waterways. The careful removal and disposal of sediment material from the Mill Race. The cutting back and or removal of trees and shrubs from the route of the Mill Race. All arisings to be disposed of to a registered land fill site. The trench excavation for and laying of a pre designed Pen Stock from the Mill Race to the turbine unit intake tunnel, working within the existing underground tunnel and turbine chamber. Alteration works to the existing Tail Race including the manufacture and fixing in position of screens. Contractor Design and Build The scheme will require the design, procurement and installation of a hydro electric turbine unit which will bee installed within the existing Power House, all connections from the new turbine unit to the Northern Ireland electricity system including the applications and associated charges. The careful removal, storage and protection of the existing turbine unit and existing switch gear for possible future display within the Power House.
