Tender description

NHS Manchester are seeking to deliver a 2 year initiative to improve equity of access in Manchester for people from BME groups. The aims of the service will be: *Improve the responsiveness of health services and health professionals to all BME (Black Minority Ethnic) communities and individuals from BME groups. *Ensure that people from BME communities gain a better understanding of how to access primary care services. *Assist individuals from all BME communities to access primary and community services. *Identify and narrow gaps in understanding the needs of individuals from BME communities and the information provision and access for individuals from BME communities in Manchester. *Improve ethnicity recording in GP practices, including first language and languages spoken. It is anticipated that the contract for this service will commence in August 2009.
