Location The scheme is located on the A66 immediately to the east of the Longnewton grade separated interchange Details of Work The works involve the following: The opening of 2 existing central reserve crossovers and the implementation of a contra flow system of traffic management. A 300mm inlay treatment will be used in lane 1 of both the east and west bound carriageways. A 65mm inlay treatment is to be used in lane 2 of both the east and west bound carriageways. EME2 bituminous material will be used for the base and binder course material that is being laid as part of the 300mm inlay treatment to lane 1. The lane 1 works will be carried out using 24 hour / day working from 20:00 on a Friday night until 06:00 on a Monday morning over two consecutive weekends. The lane 2 works will be carried out at night between 20:00 and 06:00.It is anticipated that the works will commence early September 2009. Traffic Management A contra flow system of traffic management will be utilised for works to both the east and west bound carriageways.
