Tender description

HM Prison Service maintains several prison industries that employ prisoners in purposeful activities and help them to learn skills that will contribute towards their employment upon release. One of the key industries is the aluminium double glazing industry which employs around 100 prisoners in various prisons across the country. Under the supervision of the industry managers and workshop instructors, these prisoners produce and assemble a range of windows and doors which are consumed internally by the prison estate. The objective of this tendering exercise is achieve a contractual arrangement for the provision of various double glazing systems, accessories, components and materials such as primary glazing systems, secondary glazing systems and glass and infill panels.
