Tender description
The contract is for the provision of Gas & Steam Boiler Planned Maintenance. This procurement covers a total of 31 Establishments, over 3 geographical Prison Service areas within 1 Regional Procurement Unit (RPU) regions namely RPU South-West. There is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to visit all Establishments. Current suppliers may request not to visit sites as they are aware of working conditions within a prison environment, however a site visit(s) is mandatory for both incumbent and new suppliers who have not worked for HMPS previously to ensure that the lists of equipment provided are wholly are accurate. Equipment lists for each Establishment will be included in the ITT document. The contract consists of two elements:- (1) Gas Boiler/Equipment Maintenance /Repair - The first element being that of the provision for Gas Boiler/Equipment Maintenance /Repair. This will consist of a bi-annual visit, at a pre agreed date between site and contractor, to conduct the testing, maintenance and repair of both domestic and industrial boilers and associated equipment. Statute requires each boiler to be tested twice annually to comply with Corgi Regulations and therefore the contractor will be required to test 100% of the boilers, as directed by site, per annum. (2) Steam Boiler Equipment Maintenance /Repair - The second element being that of the provision for Steam Boiler/Equipment Maintenance /Repair. This will consist of a bi-annual visit, at a pre agreed date between site and contractor, to conduct the testing, maintenance and repair of both domestic and industrial boilers and associated equipment. Statute requires each boiler to be tested twice annually to comply with Corgi Regulations and therefore the contractor will be required to test 100% of the boilers, as directed by site, per annum. It should also be noted that there may be a requirement to visit sites on an ad hoc basis at the request of the site to conduct repairs.
