Tender description

The Contract will provide regular maintenance/service visits to all the lifts within the prisons in the South Central, South West and Wales Regions. The Contractor is to ensure that all servicing, maintenance and breakdown repair is carried out in accordance with current legislation, standards and codes of practice. Manufacturers guidelines must also be adhered to. The Authority may also wish to extend these arrangements to any other HMPS establishments in any HMPS region. This will involve systematic and detailed examinations of all lifts and associated equipment by a competent person to detect any defects which are, or might become, dangerous. The competent person will report defects to the Authority so that appropriate remedial action can be taken. Preventative Maintenance will also be carried out on the lifts which will involve replacing worn or damaged parts, topping up fluid levels and making routine adjustments to ensure risks are avoided. In addition, the Invitation to Tender will also require applicants to provide costs for a fully inclusive maintenance provision. This will include: • Preventative maintenance, repairs & service visits to each unit at each establishment and include all parts and labour costs. • Inclusion of callouts 24 hours a day seven days a week including replacement parts. • Systematic examinations, adjustment and lubrication of equipment as necessary for a safe and reliable operation. • The repair and/or replacement of any parts required to ensure the safe and satisfactory operation of the lifts. • All consumables and spares such as lubricating oil, drive belts, etc. • All SAFed Lift Guidelines thorough examinations and testing test certificates. • The fitting of a trip counter to monitor actual lift usage, for presentation to the Authority . • Any work identified on Statutory Inspection reports. • Any software and/or programming/re-programming required to ensure the safe and satisfactory operation of the lifts. • All labour, administra
