Tender description
The BBC is seeking to appoint a contractor to undertake design, supply, installation, commissioning and testing of technical and broadcast production equipment in Hoddinott Hall. Hoddinott Hall is a new building currently under construction in Cardiff Bay, which will be the new home for the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales. The scope includes two technical galleries, a sound reinforcement system, production lighting, two remotely controlled cameras, a technical apparatus room, a control room with sound desk, an edit room, a stage manager room (incorporating lighting control), a dimmer room, mains distribution, IT/telecoms cabling and racking, TV and radio RF distribution and an aerial platform on the roof. Building work at Hoddinott Hall is scheduled to complete on 8.9.2008 (subject to contractors handover). The national Orchestra of Wales is scheduled to occupy the building in November 2008, with the first event to be broadcast in January 2009. The systems integrator must be available to carry out the work to support these timescales.
