Tender description

The BBC wishes to implement framework agreements with companies who can provide one or more of a range of security services. In addition to demonstrating that they have a proven record in providing one or more of the lots to a high standard and are financially stable, consideration will only be given to companies who hold appropriate licenses and approvals from the SIA and have a minimum of £5m insurance cover for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity (this requirement may be higher for some specialist services (see Lot 3 below). It is estimated that the BBC currently spends £1.4m annually on the provision of these services. The requirements are split into three lots: Lot 1 Building Security The provision of ad-hoc short term manned guarding services (inc. door supervision, static/mobile security guards etc.) at BBC locations in the UK which are not provided under existing Facilities Management contracts. Lot 2 Live Event Security BBC Radio and Television organises a large programme of live events, both large and small, across the UK. The requirement covers Event Security/Crowd Management/Event Stewarding/Location Security / Guarding including property & equipment Lot 3 Specialist Security Services Under the direction of BBC Corporate Security, the provision of a range of security services including (but not exclusively): • Close Protection (inc. Professional Defensive Driving) • Key Holding / Alarm Response • Private Investigation / Surveillance • Security Consultancy/Risk Analysis & Assessment / Penetration Testing • Audit / Surveys of Electronic Security Equipment • Blast Analysis/Structural Consultancy • ECM Sweeps/Consultancy • CBRN Specialist Services & Consultancy • Training in Conflict Resolution/Managing Aggression Please note: The BBC reserves the right to award framework agreements for discrete services under Lot 3. The BBC will consider companies who can provide one or more of the lots.
