Provision of a Community Engagement Project

Tender description

The Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice will be inviting tenders to carry out a Contract for the Provision of a Community Engagement Project at the following Establishments, collectively referred to as the Devon Cluster: HMP Channings Wood, Newton Abbott, Devon HMP Dartmoor, Yelverton, Devon HMP Exeter, Exeter The aim of the Community Engagement Project is to run a pilot project to explore how the above establishments can develop and sustain an effective and operationally useful Community Engagement model that will improve service delivery to Black and Minority Ethnic Prisoners. Should the pilot prove successful and funding being available, the Contract may be extended for a further one year period. Recently, due to pressures on the Prison Service population, there has been an increasing number of Black and Minority Ethnic Prisoners that are serving sentences at the three establishments within the Devon Cluster. In consideration of this, a service is required that will be directed at meeting the unique needs of Black and Minority Ethnic prisoners. The completed PQQ must be submitted by 12 Noon (GMT) on 7th March 2008. Please upload completed PQQ onto the Bravo-Solution website from where it was downloaded. Failure to comply with these instructions may affect your eligibility for the competition. The timetable for this Contract is as follows: Return of PQQ: 07/03/2008 Release of Invitation to Tender Documents: 11/03/2008 Return of Invitation to Tender Documents: 07/04/2008 Award Contract: 11/04/2008 Implementation of full operations: 09/06/2008 Expressions of interest are sought from all organisations, including Third Sector Organisations. Organisations wishing to tender must ideally have experience of working with Black and Minority Ethnic Communities.
