FCS5901 ANTI TERRORIST BARRIER SOLUTION

Details

Tender description

This procurement is for the supply and installation of physical anti-terrorist barriers (such as bollards and planters or equivalent solutions) at the six public entrances to the British Library’s St Pancras, London NW1 site. The aim of the project is to prevent unauthorised vehicular access including entry by force or “ramming” through gates and barriers. The site is a prestigious cultural building and all barriers installed must be in keeping with its architectural appearance. A mixture of fixed and retractable barriers (eg. rising bollards) will be required as some entrances permit authorised vehicular access. All barriers must conform to the British Standard PAS 68: 2007. The British Library St Pancras is a busy public site and all work must be carried out in such a way as to minimise disruption to public access and the Library’s business. The suppliers must have a successful track record of similar installation work in large prestigious sites. A full specification including drawings will be provided by the British Library with the ITT. The BL will also deal with all planning approval considerations.
