Local government procurement involves regional bodies like councils, local authorities, and parish services. These buyers generally focus on localised public services, social care, housing, and regional maintenance. Local authorities tend to have lower contract values, shorter procurement cycles, and a specific focus on regional economic impact, often making them more accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
